There will be no excuses
for lost car keys when Wellington's biggest magnet is
wheeled out.
A Lower Hutt-based company has signed a $1.2 million
deal to create two giant magnets for research organisations
in Germany and Australia.
Superconductor manufacturing
firm HTS-110 Ltd, part-owned by government agency Industrial
Research Ltd, will design and manufacture the magnets,
one of which will use more than 10km of wire and weigh
250kg.
